Disney Memorabilia Auction
February 8, 2020

INTRODUCTION

When Walt Disney started dreaming of a little park with rides surrounded by a train, opposite his Burbank studio, the Disney parks of today around the world could not have been further from his mind. The park that opened in 1955 was surprisingly modest. Walt started simply, creating the place. An idea, a feeling. Then he began to build out. By the time he died Disneyland more closely resembled what we have today, but in the years following his death the group of Imagineers he trained did things of which he could not have dreamed.

But we Disneyphiles all dream about it today. We go there, have fun, and many of us want to take a little something home to put on the shelf—or on many shelves. And that’s where collections start. Large Disney collections then produce large Disney auctions. But one Disney auction is not like another. The vast majority of the items being sold here come from the 25-year collection of one person. Each was carefully chosen to complement the items already in the collection and mostly for the person’s enjoyment. He only bought things he liked.

So while this auction contains many high-end and one of a kind items, it also offers souvenirs and other things that will be available to bidders with modest budgets who want to catch a little bit of the stardust which Walt Disney left behind. Wish upon a star...we hope you find something you like.
