Disney’s Background Department in the early 1930s only included two members: Emil Flohri and his assistant, Carlos Manriquez. That is, until the talented Mique Nelson joined in 1932.
Nelson wrote many letters throughout his life, a few of which survived thanks to his friend Frank Reade. Those eye-opening letters take us back to 1932 and 1934 at the Disney Studio on Hyperion Avenue.
