Animator and Imagineer Phil Mendez worked closely with Marc Davis and Walt Peregoy in the late ’70s and early ’80s when the Disney Studio and WED (now Walt Disney Imagineering) were going through their transition years. The variety of departments he worked in, and the fact that he was among the first African-American to be hired by WED, give him a unique perspective on those years.
