Who Framed Roger Rabbit was the top-grossing film of 1988. The Touchstone/Amblin detective-comedy-earned more, than $154 million domestically, and an additional $174 million overseas. Yet one of the key moments in the creation of the hit film occurred when two of its principle architects, director Rebert Zemeckis and animation director Richard Williams, met at the St. James Club in London and agreed that films combining live-action and animation dont work.
