Didier Ghez: So I’ll start with number one. Where were you born?
Paul Carlson: I was born on December 27, 1932, in Des Moines, Iowa.
DG: What did you do before entering the Disney Studios?
PC: I graduated from High School back in Des Moines, Iowa and worked for my father who was in the oil business. He was a jobber for Standard Oil Company. He operated some 30 gasoline stations in the city of Des Moines under the name of Carlson Oil. And during the war years he hauled fuel for the government through the Midwest, and he operated some 34 semi trucks pulling gasoline under the name of C&W. He had a partner named Woods so that was Carlson and Woods.
