Dale Baer
Not many artists had a career that spans from training under the Nine Old Men on Robin Hood to directing one of the main characters on the CGI movie Meet the Robinsons. Dale Baer did, which gives him a privileged point of view on all the key transition periods in the world of Disney animation during the last four decades.
Highly adaptable, Dale was trained by John Lounsbery, Hal King, and Eric Larson, suffered the Bluth years, supervised a “troubleshooting” team on Roger Rabbit, worked on The Lion King, was the Supervising Animator of Yzma in The Emperor’s New Groove, Alameda Slim in Home on the Range, and Wilbur in Meet the Robinsons.
At the time of this interview, he was hard at work on the new Goofy short How to Hook Up Your Home Theater, which will be followed by a move to the team of The Princess and the Frog. […]
