Nostalgic photo of a number of famous cartoonists

Here is a nostalgic photo of a number of famous cartoonists, sent us by the noted creator of “Freckles and His Friends” — Merrill Blosser. This was taken on October 10, 1949, on an occasion when the cartoonists had participated in a Treasury Bond Drive. One further help in identification. Note the feet of the 4 men standing on the first step — this will enable you to pick out the 4 listed in the second row.

Front row, L to R: Joe Messick, Treasury Dept., Jimmy Swinnerton, Frank Willard, George McManus, Jacob Mogelever, Treasury Dept.
Second row: Bill de La Torre, Dan Spiegle, Gus Arriola, Merrill Blosser.
Top row: Milt Gross, Buford Tune, Ferd Johnson, Zeke Zekley, Norm Ferguson, Walt Disney, Clifford McBride. Leo McManus, Mik.
