A talented artist and animal trainer, Boyd Shaffer worked on several of Disney’s nature movies, including White Wilderness and Perri. DIDIER GHEZ: When and where were you born? BOYD SHAFFER: I was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on October 17, 1925. DG: What did you do before working for Disney? BS: My earliest known drawing was a pastel of an African Gray Parrot which I had given to my Aunt Gillie who lived in Melville, Utah. I did it when I was six.
