Reg Massie
According to his son, Jeff Massie:
Reginald Massie was born either in 1909 or 1911 in Concepcion, Chile, of English parents (he was a UK citizen and wasn't naturalized until after I was born). His father died when he was eight, and he emigrated with his mother and two brothers, settling in Oakland, CA. He took classes at UC Berkeley, which he left in (I think) 1932 to go to work at Disney. He said he started there the same week as Jack Hannah. He was subsequently laid off, returned to Oakland, and graduated from the California School of Arts and Crafts in 1937.
As the interview alludes to, he was in and out of Disney several times throughout the 1930s and early 1940s. (The interview implies only two Disney stints; I thought there were even more breaks than that but as you will see I am not the greatest authority…) […]
