Scott Weitz: When did you start working for Walt at the Studio? X Atencio: My career with Disney started in 1938. I came to art school in Los Angeles. The teachers they had at art school were also teaching the animators in night classes. At the end of the semester, they suggested we get a portfolio together; they’d take it over to the Studio and have the animators give us a critique. So I hastily put a portfolio together. A couple weeks later I got a call from the Studio, and they wanted to know if I’d like to come to work, they liked my portfolio. I thought that was great.
