Mickey Mouse and all of the Disney characters are currently enjoying an impressive renaissance of national popularity. The Disney Studio's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST was a critically acclaimed success, Disney stock is at an all time high, and Disneyana collectors are now gaining national prominence as an important collectors group . . , no longer are they simply Mouse fanatics. Collecting Mickey Mouse and Disneyana is now as respectable as being a collector of any "legitimate" antiques. And among all of the Disneyana that is "out there" in the collectors marketplace, there is none more colorful and graphically striking than the lithographed tin toys manufactured by the Ohio Art Company in the 1930's.

Nearly every Disneyana collector can boast of one or two brilliant Ohio Art toy examples within their collection. And although the association of Walt Disney Enterprises and Walt Disney Productions with their licensing to Ohio Art lasted for several decades, the period of the 1930s is considered the golden age of their Disneyana production.
