Antony Joseph Strobl was born on May 12, 1915, in Cleveland, Ohio, and was raised there by his Czechoslovakian parents. He was trained as an artist, between 1933 and 1937, at the Cleveland School of Art and joined the Disney Studio as an in-betweener in 1938.
