Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
Review
SITUATION Snow White, a princess, is hated by her stepmother, the Wicked Queen, because of her beauty. The Queen commands the Huntsman to take the princess into the forest and kill her. In the forest, the Huntsman cannot kill such a beautiful girl, so he commands her to run away. She runs until exhausted. Then the animals of the forest lead her to a cottage owned by seven dwarfs who work a jewel mine all day. She tidies up the dirty cottage, and then goes to sleep on three of the tiny beds upstairs. The dwarfs return home, see that everything is clean, and think a monster is in me house. When they find Snow White, all but Grumpy want to hide her. Grumpy is agin' everything. Snow White makes the dwarfs happy, finally winning over Grumpy. Then the Wicked Queen learns that she is still alive, and decides to put her out of the way forever, with the aid of black magic. COMMENT Shrouded in complete anonymity, a whole cast of the finest actors yet to be seen on any screen make their debut in this cinema version of an ageless Grimm fairy tale. Mr. Disney's first feature-length animated cartoon is filmed in Technicolor by a marvelous new camera which actually gives a third-dimensional effect. It is an amazing picture. […]
